08/09/07:: Brutal Murder Shocks Sub-Aquatic Community

The tranquil aura surrounding Serpentshrine Cavern was shattered late Thursday evening when prominent sea giant and murloc lover Morogrim Tidewalker was found dead in his sub-aquatic lair. Residents of the normally peaceful community are in shock at the brutality of Morogrim’s murder, and many of them are finding it difficult to cope with the loss of their beloved giant.

Fathom-Lord Karathress, next door neighbor of the victim, can’t believe his long time friend and companion is dead. “I’m still coming to grips with the loss. Old ‘Grimmy always threw the best parties. Life just won’t be as fun without him around.”

One distraught murloc had the following to say about the loss of his beloved giant, “Mrgurglegr guuuurglegur mrrgle mer mrrglemer. Murgle’murgurg mergrrglegrr!”

Law enforcement officials declined to comment on their ongoing investigation, but an anonymous source within the Serpentguard stated that about twenty-five unknown assailants attempted to mug Morogrim, and he was killed in the subsequent struggle. It is rumored that two of Morogrim’s prized treasures, the [Band of the Vigilant] and [Pauldrons of the Argent Sentinel] were stolen by his murderers.

Residents of Serpentshrine Cavern are advised to be on the lookout for this band of thieves, and notify the Serpentguard immediately if they are spotted.

07/23/07 :: The Lurker Below Goes "Glub... glub.... gluuuuubbbbb..."

On Monday, July 23rd Elysian gathered in Serpentshrine Cavern for a fishing expedition. We'd heard there was a strange pool that harbored some large fish-like creature; it isn't easy trying to feed 25 hungry mouths, so we figured we'd grab our (fishing) poles and see if we could lure this creature to the surface for a good ol' fashioned scaling, gutting, and deep frying. (Mmmm, fishsticks!)

Lo and behold, the ugliest fish-thing we'd ever seen came out of the water and attacked us! After experiencing his spit, er, spout, and his whirl, we did what any sane sentient being would do -- we threw our laundry in!

Free rinse & spin and fishsticks for all when it was over with? Who could resist?!

We laid waste to this creature, donned our freshly cleaned clothes, and posed for a picture before Dad came in with the gutting knife and scaler.... We'll have to go back next week to clean our clothes again; Dad was careless with the knife and we all got splattered in fish guts. Ew!

07/16/07 :: The Art of Fel Reaver Maintenance

Ever wonder what was in that manual you had to get for the SMV quest? Well, we went and asked Plexi, who told us in great detail exactly how to maintain a fel reaver.

Step 1: Don't succumb to Pounding
Step 2: Keep hitting it even after it knocks you back
Step 3: Avoid getting zapped by Arcane Orbs
Step 4: DPS fast before it gets mad at you for tinkering with its innards
Step 5: Cut the red wire. (Or is it the green wire? ZOMG, I can't remember! No wait, it's the blue wire!)
Step 6: Avoid getting squished when it falls to the ground
Step 7: Sufficiently degrease yourself and collect its belongings

On Monday, July 16th, Elysian downed Void Reaver on our first attempt for the night, after only 1 prior night of attempts. Great job everyone, and congratulations to the winners!

07/02/07 :: Magtheridon Silenced: Countless Fel Orcs Thank Elysian for the Peace and Quiet.

On Monday, July the 2nd, Elysian successfully slew Magtheridon, the most emo demon in Outland. With his death, the halls of Hellfire Citadel have been freed from the pit lord's incessant whining. It has been reported that the fel orc army of Kargath Bladefist can finally get a good night's sleep without using ear plugs or prescription sleep aids. To show his appreciation, one thoughtful orc by the name of Tharg presented us with a decorative fruit basket. We thanked him for his kindness then killed him. Seriously, who would trust anything a fel orc gives you?

06/28/07 :: Magtheridon -- 23%

We've been working on Magtheridon for only a few raid nights now, and have been perfecting every stage of the encounter each attempt.

Thursday night, we had a huge jump in progress. On our last attempt for the night, all 5 channelers were dead before Mag unbanished, and both cube-click teams executed their duties flawlessly throughout the encounter. We made it to and past the 30% transition, and got Magtheridon down to 23% before an ill-timed earthquake and some unlucky crits made the MT do a corpse impersonation.

Alas it was our last attempt for the night and several members had already stayed late on previous raid nights, and couldn't afford to be late to work the next morning, so we couldn't try again, but we'll get Magteridon for sure next time!

Great work everyone!

06/27/07 :: KZ One-Night Clear!

We set a goal for a two-night KZ clear some weeks ago, and both of our KZ groups reached that goal within a relatively short time. This past Wednesday, one of our two KZ groups went above & beyond and cleared all of KZ in one night in just under 4 hours! Congratulations, team!

Special thanks to some of the members of that group who had to be up in 6 hours for work but stayed the extra 20 minutes past our official end time to take down the last 2 bosses we had left.

Keep up the great work, Elysian!

05/21/07 :: Go Fish?

After finishing up in Karazhan on Monday, 5/21, one of our KZ groups had some time -- and a fish -- to kill. We headed over to The Bay of Storms in Azshara in the spirit of charity and brotherhood (ok, it was really just to get him to shut up) to help one of our members complete one of the links in the quest chain to open Ahn'Qiraj. Yes, AQ has long since been open on Gilneas, but some people are obsessed with completing every quest in the game!

We give you, the not-so-great and rather-boring-at-70, Maws:

05/19/07 :: R.I.P. Gruul!

With our friends Kryptyk and Tracerx joining us, Elysian persisted in our attempts tonight and laid waste to Gruul the Dragonkiller.

The dragonkiller fell before our combined might!

Loot:
- Eye of Gruul: Kryptyk
- Gronn-stitched Girdle: Torey
- Leggings of the Fallen Defender: Aife

Congratulations everyone!

05/14/07 :: Netherspite Down!

Overcoming adversity in the face of losing our GM / MT and many other beloved veteran members who decided to quit WoW, Elysian persevered and brought down Netherspite on 5/14, moving us even closer to our current goal of a 2-day full-clear for Karazhan.

The dead dragon (before he was ruthlessly skinned for Knothide Leather Scraps...).

Elysian is Recruiting!

Elysian is looking for a few dedicated players to bolster our roster for 10 and 25 person raid content. We're currently running two Karazhan groups and one Gruul's Lair raid per week. In Karazhan, we've successfully slain Prince Malchazar, and plan on moving on to Nightbane this week. In addition to raids, we often do unscheduled heroic instances runs during off nights.

We are currently looking for the following classes to fill the gaps in our roster:
- 1 Hunter
- 1 Paladin (holy)
- 1 Rogue
- 1 Shaman (any spec)

All potential recruits need to meet the following requirements:
- You must be available on time and be prepared to stay for the entire duration of the raid. Our current raid schedule is M / W / F 08:30 PM to 12:00 AM EST, but we plan on adding an additional Saturday raid as soon as we start raiding Gruul's Lair.
- You must have Ventrilo and a working microphone for voice communication during raids.
- You need to familiarize yourself with raid encounters by reviewing strategies before the raid starts.
- You should come prepared for raids by stocking up on bandages, food, potions, and others consumables.

Anyone interested in applying to Elysian should fill out an application on our website, which can be found at the following URL: http://recruiting.elysian-gaming.com/
